В Израиле этот фильм еще не показывали? Если будет возможность, обязательно посмотрите. Совершенно невероятный мини-сериал (6 часов).
Здесь его так раскручивали, а никто из моих знакомых почему-то не посмотрел, даже не с кем поговорить. :-)

Мег Райан нам не надо. Там играют Аль Пачино, Мерил Стрип и
Эмма Томпсон.

Если дублировано на русский, то однозначно не стоит - ненавижу. ;-)

А в оригинале я бы скачала. Ну в общем если ты кого-то из троих названных любишь смотреть, то их там много.

I've seen it. Excellent series. I loved everybody except Al Pachino and Maire-Loues Parker(sp?). She played the mormon gay guy wife. I hate her whining voice. I absolutely loved Maryl Streep. She is the best. Her Ethel was full of cliches and I cringed few times about her jewish accent, but other than that she is brilliant. I loved her as repressed mormon mother. I didn't really get the whole angel thing but thought Emma Thompson was great. I know Al Pachino is your favorite after Alan Rickman ofcourse. But in the last twenty years he is playing the same role over and over again. Plus his New York accent was really bad and he was slipping in and out off it all the time. I am sure you didn't pick it up, but as a semi-native new yorker believe me when I say it was bad. The whole series was just excellent, alittle out of my scoop, gay AIDS in 80, we were too young and not in america to appreciate the story line. Acting was superb.

I hated Parker as well. But Loius was the worst. Not the actor, but the character - impersonating everything that is wrong about left-wing, secular jews. God, what a jerk.
The funny thing is - your first thought after watching is "What an incredibly jewish movie, down to an almost complete kaddish". But then you thing - "hang on, the most sympathetic jewish character in this movie is a ghost of Ethel Rosenberg!"

The guy who played Prior was fantastic. I hope he becomes a big star.

He is so cute. I read the rumors thought that he's gay. Oh well, not that I have a chance in hell to meet him. He and the guy who played his boyfriend are both adorable. Was he jewish in the movie? I kind of miss some parts. I know his boyfriend was jewish. The director Mike Nichols is emmigrant from Germany. He came as a boy and didn't know a word of English except "Don't kiss me". I thought it was histerical. I thought some part bordered on anti-semitic. For expamle the whole Roy Cohn part really pissed me off. Yea, there is big fat jewish conspiracy and we just wait to take over the world. All the bad, corrupted characters were jewish and the most naive and wholesome was Mormon(that the first). Well, he turned out not to be that wholesome at the end when he takes gay lover. My personal favorite was Belize, the black guy. He won Golden Globes for that role. I liked his exchenge with Roy where he called him kike.
P.S. You can write in russian. I thought about trying it myself, but I don't have the russian keyboard. I've seen it at Golub's it is completely different from english letter location wise. How do you type? with one finger?

Louis was jewish, Prior was not.
Mike Nichols's parents were Russian jews, who run away to Germany in 1917, so I doubt he is antisemitic.
Belize was awesome, how could I forget about him.
I type with 10 fingers, and because of that I had a bad case of
carpal tunnel syndrome last year. :-( So maybe you are better off with one finger typing.
