But maybe she should make an appearance at the end of the last book/film, to congratulate everyone on a job well done and thank Harry for ridding her beloved England forever of the pestilent Lord Voldemort. And the film should conclude on her waving decorously to the audience, into the camera, cue final credits...

Well, since Bella is mad, black-haired and used to be beautiful many years ago, I was thinking about Liz Taylor. :-) But your suggestion is not without merits.
